Happy Friday! Are you ready to relax into the weekend? If so, you are going to love this pose!
Supported Butterfly Pose is a very popular restorative pose and often one of my go-to poses when teaching a restorative yoga class.
Supported Butterfly Pose is a great pose for so many reasons…. It helps to open the front of the chest, it brings energy into the abdominal area thereby helping with digestion, it also is supportive for the low back and helps to relax the inner thighs.
Props: 1 bolster or two pillows, 2 blankets (if you don’t have a bolster, you might consider covering a block with a blanket as a substitute) and two blocks.
If you want to have a longer rest practice, I suggest doing the reclined twist pose you can see here first and then move into the Supported Butterfly. This pose is great to hold for 15-20 or as long as it feels comfortable for you. I hope you will take the time to make sure you are really comfortable in this pose so you can really enjoy it.
Have a great weekend!!!
Be Well,
Nicole
