Namaste Yogis,
I am excited to announce a new regular feature on my blog… Yoga in Pajamas! In my humble opinion, ‘pajama asana’ is one of the best ways to practice restorative yoga or ‘rest yoga’ as I like to call it. So easy: put your pjs on, do your rest pose, and crawl into bed relaxed and ready for sleep!
Rest yoga has been part of my night time routine for the past month or so as these unsettled days linger on. I will sometimes put on a guided meditation (I love the insight timer app) and let go. Times are T O U G H right now and self-care is so important!!!
The pose for this week is Supported Child’s Pose. There are many different variations of this pose, this one happens to be one of my favorites. Go put your jammies on and give this pose a try, you won’t regret it! Let me know in the comments below how it felt for you.
PROPS: yoga mat, 1 bolster or two pillows, 2 blocks or thick books, and a blanket.
(I have created links to some props, that I like)
This pose is so good for so many reasons!!!! Perfect for those times you might be feeling a little bit anxious as it is very calming and relaxing. The pose also helps to gently stretch the feet, inner thighs, and hips. It can also help improve circulation. It is also a great pose to try if you are feeling discomfort in the low back.
Click the link below to the video to see how to set up the pose. I will guide you through a little warm-up and then show you how to set-up for the pose. You can also go to my Instagram page and I will show you in photos how to set up for the pose. So many options!!!
P.S. These pajamas are the best! They are the perfect weight for warm summer nights, lounging around the house, and of course practicing yoga in!!! You can check them out here!
Be Well Yogis!
