Namaste Yogis!
I hope you had a good weekend! This weekend, I was reflecting on all of the challenges we have been faced with this year. The most recent being the wildfires which has kept many of us indoors due to poor air quality. Like many I’m sure, I have found this to be very frustrating since one of the things that has helped me cope with the pandemic is getting out for my walks and running the stairs. Because of the wild fires burning in California, I have not been able to get out for the past week or so. Needless to say, this is very frustrating but I am trying to make the best of it by practicing more yoga and moving my body in other ways without going outside.
This weekend, I was also reading, Super Attractor by Gabby Bernstein which is about methods to attract a life beyond your wildest dreams. One of the chapters is titled, Have Fun along the Way. As I was reading this chapter it reminded me of a dear friend and former coworker of mine, Mickey. Mickey passed away several years ago but was one of those people who everyone just adored. She was always so positive, upbeat, and always had the best advice if you needed it. Every morning when we would head off to our classrooms, she would say “ let’s go have some fun or have fun today!”. Mickey really did know how to have fun!
Towards the end of her life, Mickey had cards made (pictured above) that said, “Have Fun Everyday”. She passed them out to friends who came to visit her. I just loved this so much! As I continued to read my book, I had to stop and ask myself, “What would Mickey do if she was living during these times (what would Mickey do was also a question my former coworkers and I would ask in challenging situations when Mickey was no longer with us)? I know with certainty Mickey would be finding a way to have fun and she would be inspiring all of those close to her to be doing the same!
My point in sharing this story is to remind you that life is short and things may be challenging but we can still find ways to shine even in the darkest of days. It is my hope no matter what is going on in your life you can….
HAVE FUN EVERYDAY!!!
To Mickey…. I love you, think of you often, and know you are still inspiring me today!!! XO
Please let me know in the comments below what are some of the things you are doing to have fun everyday!!
Be Well Yogis!
